FamilyGuard privacy policy
The short version
FamilyGuard does not collect your data or your child's data. There is no
account, no analytics, and no server that sees what anyone browses.
What stays on the device
Blocked attempts. When FamilyGuard blocks a site, it records the domain, the
reason and the time, so a parent can see what was stopped and unblock it if it
was a mistake. This is stored in the app's own container on the device, is
capped in size, and can be cleared at any time from the Activity screen. It is
never transmitted.
Sites you visit that are allowed. These are not recorded anywhere, by
anyone. FamilyGuard sees them in order to decide whether to allow them, and then
forgets them.
Your settings. The categories you block, the sites you have allowed or
blocked by hand, and your offline hours are stored on the device.
Your parent passcode. Stored in the device Keychain as a salted hash — not
as the passcode itself. We cannot recover it and neither can anyone else.
What leaves the device
One thing: FamilyGuard periodically downloads an updated blocklist file from our
server. That request contains no identifier, no account, and nothing about the
device or its browsing. Our server sees only that some copy of FamilyGuard asked
for the current list file, as it would for any file downloaded from the web.
What we do not do
We do not sell data. We do not share data with third parties. There are no
third-party SDKs, no advertising, and no analytics in the app.
Children
FamilyGuard is bought and configured by a parent and used on a child's device.
It collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
